I am hosting a 50th Surprise Birthday Party for my husband?

I am giving my husband a 50th Surprise Birthday Party. Thinking about giving personalized hershey kisses in little bags for each guest, just something to say thanks for sharing in this special occassion with my husband.

Is this going over board?

I agree with the other comments. The personalized stuff is pricey. Better off using the money for other aspects of the party like food, entertainments, or decorations. There is no need to give a goodie bag to each guest.

If you feel compelled to give a gift, here is a suggestion from a recent 60th party my parent's went to: The 'birthday girl' had pictures taken with her and each couple/guest. The pics were uploaded to walgreens.com and and printed out. A pic of my parents %26amp; the birthday girl was enclosed in a thank you card. My mom put the pic in a frame on her coffee table. Pics are super cheap on-line ($0.19 a print), and it's a great way to circulate through the party to greet and thank each guest for coming.

Happy Birthday to your hubby!
Reply:No it sounds like a great idea...If it were me, i'd have funny little things like maybe a noisemaker, the kisses, and a pen or something...adults like feeling like kids sometimes
Reply:They are kind of expensive, I've looked into the price per serving size of the bag and it was too much for me personally. They are cute, and a great idea if he really loves Hershey's kisses! What about baking cookies and cut them into 5-0, and wrap in cellophane for everyone?

sorry- I just cant justify overspending on stuff- just my opinion!
Reply:What about having the little Hersey candy bars with a special message on it and a picture of your husband when he was younger! Just put these in a bowl on the tables! This is what they did at my Husbands Parents Aniv Party! It was a big hit!

It was real fun seeing old pictures of them on the candies!
Reply:I think it is a great idea! I am turning 50 as well and I know if my husband had a party and gave out "loot bags" at the end of the party my friends would get a kick out of it. I'd say go for it!
Reply:It is not going overboard! One idea you can do is.Go to a dollar store and buy a bunch of whisks. As many as there are guests.Fill it with a couple of Hershey kisses.Attach a message that says

"Whisk you could have stayed longer, but here is some kisses for the road!"

Everyone will love it!
Reply:Not at all! Very nice! They'll love it...and Happy Birthday to your man!
Reply:I think you're a bit over the top with this one. Childrens parties have goodie bags . I think a more appropriate thing to do would be to send out a thank you card to all those who came to celebrate such a great milestone.
Reply:Here's a cool surprise birthday party invitation.

Reply:not at all, saying thanks is never going over board, you can take pictures of each guest with the birthday boy and frame them in cheap frames and send them to your guest with a thank you note. I have done this and people love it.
