In your lifetime, do you see Salt Lake City hosting the Winter Olympics again? Why or why not?

In 2002, Salt Lake City, Utah USA host the 2002 Winter Olympic Games. Although I have read on Wikipedia that Salt Lake has expressed interest in hosting the games a second time in 2018 or 2022, do you see Salt Lake City hosting the Winter Games again in your lifetime? Why or why not?

The number of cities interested in hosting an Olympics has grown lately, because it's possible not to go financially broke when hosting it. (It's the legacy of the L.A. Games of '84.) The Olympics are also all about marketing these days, and returning to the same places wouldn't expand the brand. That's considered a reason why the Games are in China this year.

I guess it's possible the Games could go back to SLC in about 30 years, perhaps to keep the American television networks happy, but it's a long shot. I would guess Denver might have a shot at some point, and Calgary could get another chance in 20-30 years.
Reply:only if graft and corruption are encouraged again in the bid process
