I want something that I can sit out, not having to worry about keeping it warm. A cold dish that adults and children can enjoy. I was thinking hot dogs, a large fruit salad and something else as an alternative to hot dogs. What else can I serve? The weather is expected to be sunny, low 90's, so I need some ideas. Any suggestions?
I am hosting a birthday party for my 8 year old next weekend, what should I serve?
potatoe salad, pasta salad, sandwiches, cheese and ham tortillas, quesadillas, chicken wings or chicken fingers
Reply:A veggie/dip platter is good too ...* and a bean salad can sit out for hours (just open %26amp; drain cans of cut green beans, kidney beans, sliced carrots, garbanzo beans %26amp; mix with some Italian dressing - marinate for a few hours) .....*.For the fruit salad: hollow out half of a watermelon, and put the cut melon %26amp; fruit back into the watermelon shell to serve it .....* Quiche is good, even if it's at room temp....
Reply:Taco in a bag! Mini bag of doritos with half the chips, taco meat, lettuce, tomato, and cheese. give them a fork and toss when done. my 7yr old loves these. also gross but kids seem to like it pickle pops, frozen pickle juice in a dixie cup with toothpick as a stem. dessert anything with chocolate!
Reply:Maybe a pasta salad, cheese (after all, who doesn't love chese), and perhapse some really good bread?
Happy birthday to your 8-year-old!
