How do I scan a photo small enough for web hosting?

I want to put photos on my blog site which requires photo hosting at a smaller size than my photos are scanned into my computer. How do I do the shrink down? Thank You

How do I scan a photo small enough for web hosting?
you can scan in .jpeg format then re save as .gif format which will automatically compress the size you can use photoshop for this as internet mostly support .gif files
Reply:Better alternative (to Photoshop, photoshop means $$$) are small scale free programs like Irfanview and Picasa.
Reply:Use a photo editing program (like Photoshop) to resize the pics. The program you used to scan the images in with should have a re-seize function in it though.
Reply:ALMOST ALL PROGRAMS HAVE PROGRAMS WHICH WILL CHANGE THE TYPE OF GRAPHIC BITMAN, JPG, ECT. ONE FOR THE INTERNET, THIS WILL CHANGE THE SIZE, OR YOU CAN CHANGE PAGE SETUP OR CROP IT IF YOU WANT A CERTAIN AREA. IT HAS TO BE A CERTAIN TYPE OF GRAPHIC TYPE TO PUT IT ON THE INTERNET.
Reply:Normally scan your photo. You should then get or use some kind of image/photo editing program. (I reccomend Irfan View, which can be used to edit the sizes of images and their file types). After scanning your photo, open up your program and edit it there.

(If you do get Irfan View, open your image up %26gt; Click 'Image' %26gt; 'Resize/Resample...' and edit there.)

I hope this helps. :)
