I was told that web positioning in Search engens depends from Hosting Place. Is it true? Can anyone tell me if web position in Google depends from the hosting company?
Is web position in Google depend from hosting place or not?
The design of the page, and not only the number of inbound links but WHERE those links are, will affect your position. For example, links from sites like The New York Times will affect you more than, say, your little brother's blog.
It also depends... when you say "where" it's hosted... if you mean a site where you do not own the domain name (GeoCities, Tripod, one of the blogging sites like Blogger or WordPress), then yes, that can affect you.
However if we're talking about you owning your own domain name, then it's less significant. With a shared hosting account, the primary concern would be the activity of other accounts on the same physical machine... for example, if the IP address of the box your server sits on got tagged as the source of known spam activity, that might very well affect your rating. That's one of the risks of shared web hosting, and the only real solution is to get a dedicated machine, perhaps reducing the cost by farming out some of your space to other websites to people you know reasonably well.
Reply:The algorithm for search result ordering in Google is not a public fact, but in general, sites with more links to it will get higher in the rankings, as long as it includes the keyword and seems relevant to the phrase that has been typed.
For popular keywords, it is usually a combination of how relevant the page is in regard to the keyword and how many links there are.
But in answer to your question, paid hosting with a domain name (.com, .net, .us) will have more advantage over a geocities or any other site that hosts sites for free.
In fact, as long as you have a domain then all you have to do is get links, optimize your page for keywords that you want your site to appear for in the listings and you should be fine!
Reply:As far as I know, the first website on the list is the one which has the most links from other websites. Excluding sposored links,
Reply:it really has to do with meta tags in your html coding. the more in common with the initial search, the higher up it will be on the results.
you can learn more about META Tags at the link below.
