What are the logistics of hosting a charity poker event?

I want to know how to raise money from this event? Would there be a cover charge to get in? Or would all the winnings to go charity at the end of the night? Or would people have to pay for food and/or drinks? I am not too concerned about licensing as this would be a relatively small affair at someone's house. I was just wondering about which part of the night would result in the funds going towards charity. Thanks!

You need to look at the licencing aspect more closely as you seem to want to charge people.

Just as an idea though, I would have people buy chips as they enter so for $10 you get chips to the value of 100. this is what people use to play with they can buy more as the night goes on. Get some small prizes so that people can change their chips for them. At the end of the night take from the revenue what you have spent on the prizes and give the rest to charity.
Reply:Usually people have an outside company run the whole thing.

They would have all of your answers.
