Does anyone have any good suggestions on hosting a murder-mystery dinner party for 8+ people?

Any good experiences with certain websites? Certain "games"? That sort of thing. For my 21st birthday party, I'm hosting a murder mystery party and I'm wanting some feedback on what worked best for them. Anyone in my age range that had one that everyone was laughing at and felt really suited them? Let me know ANY information or websites you found useful! Thank you!

Well, I haven't actually went on to any websites, but one thing I tried with my friends a year or two ago was quite fun...

We basically took a plot out of a detective story, cut it short, grabbed a mannequin, dressed it up, drew a chalk line around it, "cordoned" it off with rope and made it the "scene of crime". Then we scattered evidence around the place, gave each participant a magnifying glass and a small notebook.

It was quite fun really, since we had a lot of space to ourselves - mainly at our house, the back garden and the patio and the attic, where the "crime" was commited. We also had people pretend to be "forensic" scientists to give data reports and autopsy results and policemen who could give additional details of the scene of the crime. They had to crack the crime before a set time. The one who cracked it the earliest got a prize.

Well, it did suit us, but then we needed a lot of extra help - and a lot of planning and shopping beforehand (we borrowed a mannequin from my friend's boutique), but I hope you can draw a bit of inspiration from this.
